Description

Dog Hock (Tarsal) Support Braces give your dog steady rear-ankle support during recovery—without bulky hardware. This dog hock (tarsal) brace helps stabilize the joint, limit over-flexion, and reduce irritation from everyday movement so sprains, strains, and post-op sites can heal more comfortably.

Product Features

  • Targeted hock stabilization: Supports the tarsal (rear ankle) joint to ease stress on ligaments and tendons.

  • Adjustable, non-slip fit: Wide hook-and-loop straps let you dial in tension; anti-twist design helps prevent sliding.

  • Comfortable daily wear: Soft, breathable fabric with light padding for walks, rest, and car rides.

  • Washable & quick-dry: Easy to clean for hygienic, odor-free use.

  • Universal left/right: Fits either rear leg; order two for bilateral support.

  • Cone companion: Limits access to the area; pair with an e-collar for determined lickers.

Note: This is a supportive brace (not a rigid splint or weight-bearing device).

Who It’s For

  • Sprains/strains and mild ligament irritation of the hock

  • Post-surgery stabilization as advised by your veterinarian

  • Arthritis or age-related instability in the rear ankle

  • Dogs that over-flex the hock during activity

Sizing & Fit Guide

Measure before ordering for the best result.

  1. Upper leg circumference – just above the hock

  2. Lower leg circumference – just below the hock

  3. Coverage height – distance from above to below the joint where the brace will sit

Fit Tips

  • If between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort.

  • Straps should be snug, not tight—use the two-finger rule under each strap.

  • Recheck fit after 10–15 minutes of movement and adjust if the brace rotates.

How to Use

  1. Identify the affected rear leg (left or right).

  2. Open all straps; align the center of the brace over the hock.

  3. Fasten bottom to top, applying even tension.

  4. Let your dog walk a few steps; re-seat if you notice twisting or slipping.

  5. Start with short sessions (20–40 min), then increase as tolerated.

Care & Maintenance

  • Close straps before washing.

  • Hand wash or machine wash cold, gentle; air dry only.

  • Inspect skin and coat daily for redness, moisture, or hair matting.
